Are you happy with the stimulus?

Here are some interesting details on the "stimulus" package. If you would not mind forwarding this along to your friends, family, and contacts, it would be greatly
appreciated. The more info Americans have on this bill, the only thing stimulated will be anger and outrage, because none of this stimulates the economy or creates Jobs.
* The interest payments alone on the stimulus would cost $350 billion over
the next ten years, which means the next generation will have to pay the bills.
* The bill contains nothing in it that would stimulate the economy, but its only
a down-payment on big government spending. In reality, it’s a welfare proposal.
Wasteful Spending Provisions
* $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power
plant in Illinois that the Dept. of Energy defunded last year because the project was inefficient
* $650 million for the digital television (DTV) converter box coupon program
* $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship)
* $448 million for constructing the Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
* $248 million for furniture at the new Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
* $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees
* $400 million for the CDC to screen and prevent STD’s
* $1.4 billion for a rural waste disposal programs
* $125 million for the Washington , D.C. sewer system
* $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities
* $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion
* $75 million for "smoking cessation activities"
* $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges
* $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI
* $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction
* $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River
* $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas
* $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings
* $500 million for state and local fire stations
* $650 million for wildland fire management on Forest Service lands
* $1.2 billion for "youth activities," including youth summer job programs
* $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service
* $412 million for CDC buildings and property
* $500 million for building and repairing NIH facilities in Bethesda, MD
* $160 million for "paid volunteers" at the Corporation for
National and Community Service
* $5.5 million for "energy efficiency initiatives" at the VA
" National Cemetery Administration"
* $60 million for Arlington National Cemetery
* $850 million for Amtrak
* $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint
* $75M to construct a new "security training" facility for State Dept Security
officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
* $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems
* $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy
vehicles for use on military installations.
* $275 million for "watershed and flood prevention operations"
* Eliminates fees on loans from the Small Business Administration,
thus pushing private capital toward unproductive businesses and away
from productive businesses.
* Increases the definition of "youth" for certain summer job
programs from age 21 to age 24.

* $160 million to the Job Corps program at the Dept. of Labor, but
not for job programs – rather, to construct, alter or repair buildings.
* Requires a government study on the impact of minimum wage laws
on the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa .
* A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy
motion picture film.
* $79 billion State Fiscal Stabilization (slush) Fund to bailout
the States by providing billions of dollars for "education" costs of any kind.
* $47.843 billion is appropriated for a variety of energy programs
that are primarily focused on renewable energy development and energy
conservation/efficiency. Not one dollar is appropriated to make fossil
fuels more affordable in the near future. More than $6 billion of these
funds go to environmental clean ups.
* Increases eligibility for "weatherization" assistance to households 200
percent above the poverty level.
* The "Making Work Pay" credit of $500 to every individual making
less than $75,000 (or $1000 to couples making $150,000 or less) would
pay people whether they are productive or not – akin to welfare.
* The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP- food
stamps) would temporarily suspend the 3-month limit for non-working
adults to receive SNAP benefits, thus giving incentives not to find a job.
* Installs government as the creator of broadband deployment
regardless of whether the speci

I see very little stimulus, just an effort to further deficit spend. For this amount of money I’d rather cut a check to each American for $2,500 or so and let them decide where the money can go. The money is either going to go in the bank (helping sovlvency) the stock market (increasing demand, thus increasing price) or be spent, most likely helping out the rest of the economy.

Does anyone else feel like they don’t bring much to their marriage?

My fiance is a better cook than I am (I assist in the kitchen, though). He is handy around the house with home repairs, etc. He cleans his apartment and cleans mine too (I help!). He’s teaching me how to drive (I never needed a license before because I lived in New York City). He knows more about finances and investing and taxes (I pay off my credit cards right away too, though!).

When I sit down and think about it, I don’t know what on earth I bring to my marriage. It’s not that I’m lazy — I am a professional and I’ll be finishing my master’s degree this summer — but when it comes to household and general life management, I kinda rely on him to take the lead.

When I bring this up with him, he just says "You bring your sparkling personality." That’s very sweet, but I’m afraid once we move in together he’s going to end up feeling burdened by constantly having to manage my life for me.

Anyone else feel this way? Suggestions?

The most important thing is you both love eachother. Maybe he feels good doing this for you. It makes him feel needed and he likes that. (just opinions) I’m sure theres lots you’ll bring to your marriage. Love, Affection, Hope, Fidelity, "Your sparkling personality". Don’t be so hard on yourself. Think of yourself as lucky. You’ve got a man thats wants to take care of his future wife. Congratulations on your engagement and best wishes on your future wedding!!!

What should i do?

Your friend has serious problems. Have you tried talking to her? Maybe check out some counseling for her–she needs it.

I own a timeshare outright. And need to get rid of it, because it is falling apart and un-trade-able?

When my wife and I first bought this, it was a great property in the US Virgin Islands. It had high trade value with RCI. However, after a lengthy lawsuit against the former property manager (a suit led by the owners assoc), the property has since fallen apart. Mold is overtaking and closing some units. major repairs in the millions are needed. RCI trade value has dropped to the point where we cannot reasonably trade for decent weeks at other resorts. Our maintenance fees are climbing, and after 10 years of this, there is no end in sight. I AM current on fees and taxes and own the unit outright. I canNOT therefore, simply give it back to the bank. Sooooooo, is a "quit claim" actioni (similar to a divorce) an answer that will protect my credit? The current managament says if I "walk away" they will give to a collection agency, which could severely hurt my credit rating, which is excellent. HELP!

Time shares are pratically free these days. Go ahead and check ebay.

Your best bet would be to donate it to a charity – then get a tax write-off.

Time shares are one of the WORST financial decisions.

Is this a good resume?

I’m 19, with a pretty short resume. I’m just looking to improve it a little, as I did this myself as well as I could. Names, numbers, and addresses were obviously omitted.

If I want them to call my cell instead of my home, as I live between my dad and mom (mom’s info is on the resume), should I just keep out my home number?

I also dropped out of college (planning on a tech school next year) without any credits gained. Take that off?

The first thing you should put on is what your objective is. This lets employers now why you are applying.

You should also have things in point list form, like your skill. And I don’t know because there is no format, but make sure all the titles (experience, education, skills and references) are in bold or underlined. This way the resumer looks more organized. But dont do more than one (bold/italic/underline) or they can get confused.

Last thing, reorganize the order it is in, like: objective then skills, then ex[perience, than references. Remember that they read your resume in the order you give them and you want them to know your skills first so when they read your work history they can see how you applied those skills.

Good Luck!!

Dude, this is too much to ask for 2 points. Break this up into smaller chunks.

Let me help you…if someone likes something less, then demand is less, because demand reflects desire and ability to buy. Try doing them by asking first…does this change demand? Then, is it increase or decrease?

Supply reflects desire and ability to produce. Ask if the scenario changes that, then once again, how.
