I had few credit cards since 2000. I did not make any payment on thouse cards but my credit report shows charge offs. Is there anyway i can fix it or what can i do ?? please help me.

If these cards were opened in 2000 and no payments were made, then they would have been charged off 6 months after that date. Most negative info can only stay on your credit report for 7 years. You should dispute those charge offs as being outdated with the credit reporting agencies.

I need advice to fix old credits without going through credit solutions?

Assuming you are referring to defaulted accounts on your credit report, get a copy of your credit report (AnnualCreditReport.com) and start working on settling the derogatory items one at a time. Start with the newest and work back to the oldest.

If you have single entry items like medical and utility bills, get a pay for delete agreement — you pay $x and they delete the item from your file. This doesn’t work for regularly reported items like credit cards as the collection agency can only remove what they report. The original creditor’s charge off would remain.

If the debt is over 3 years old, offer 25%; 2 or 3 years old, offer 50%; less than 2, offer 75%. Lump sum gets the best deals. Payment plans have to be short term. Get any settlement agreement in writing and do not give the collector direct access to your bank account.

Paying off old debt will not improve your score (unless you get a pay for delete). The damage is already done and the derogatory will take the balance of the 7 year reporting period to age off. However, creditors look at your whole report, not just the score. Paid old debt always looks better than unpaid.

I have had troubles in the past. I opened my first credit card and went crazy, had about a $600 bill that I never paid, and I now have bad credit. Im only 20 years old, and I have tried to apply for 2 credit cards and got denied on both. Are there any other ways besides credit cards that will help my credit? I hear that paying a cell phone bill on time will help? True? What other things can I do to help my credit?

Cell phones do not report to credit bureaus unless you default and the debt goes to a collection agency.

The only credit card that you are likely to get at this point would be a secured card — you pay a deposit which is held as collateral for the line of credit. Use the card and pay it in full every month. In a year or so you may be able to convert it to a regular credit card.

I have had Lexington Law disputing my credit reports for almost a year and when i moved to Louisiana they wouldn’t do anything for me. Is there a company that will? i really need to fix my credit. i went from 510 to 600 in 11 months with Lexington Law and really looking forward to 700. where do i go for a Louisiana resident?

Your bad credit will come back eventually anyway….

They removed stuff from my report… and it all came back eventually.

I have excellent credit now…. and the only way to have great credit is be paying your bills on time. Just keep up with the payments and before you know it you will have good credit…. without wasting your hard earned money on rip-offs like Lexington Law Firm.

My credit is very bad, what can i do to fix it? i lost my job and its been hard getting a new one but im still looking everyday and to top it all off im 4 months pregnant. is there anything i can do to get things to change?

We were in a similar situation when I got pregnant. I was 4 mo. pregnant and my husband lost his job. I was still working but we got behind on bills etc. He got unemployment so try that, it helped us a lot. As far as fixing our credit, it’s still shaky and at times we still struggle and get behind. Positively speaking, we started thinking about what we had instead of what we didn’t have. We have a place to live, food on the table, a healthy baby etc. Think about your necessities first then worry with the rest. Try to get WIC/Medicaid if you haven’t already to help cover your medical expenses for the baby and so you can try and stay healthy. Continue to apply for jobs too. It’ll be harder b/c you’re pregnant but hang in there, have faith and I promise it’ll all work out in the end…everyone told me that and I didn’t believe them, but it will!

My credit score is about 657 I want to raise to 700 and higher, any way I can get my credit report fix and how do i do that?

You need to make sure that you pay all of your bills on time every month. Next, if you have credit cards, you need to make sure that the most that you are using of your available credit is less than 20%. Check your credit report for any inaccuracies and get them fixed.

I had an apt. in Laredo and when we moved my so-called friend said she would take over payments since we just signed a year lease but when we moved i never heard from her, and now it is on my credit. luckily we got and apt. before it was on my credit but i dont plan on living here for the rest of my life. Is there anything i can do to fix this, or if i pay the 2000 dollars i owe will that even do anything tell help my credit out. any kind of input would be greatly appreciated.

If you do decide to pay the amount owed try to negotiate with the creditor to have the item removed from you account. This would be better than having the item simply shown as paid. GOOD LUCK

I just have some student loans, and couple other bills on my credit history. I also want my credit score to go higher in less time. what is the best way to fix my credit?

Contact a credit repair Company . They can and have removed student loans and 3 charged off credit cards for me that where late.
I tried 3 companies two big ones with "Law" in their name.
They wanted big bucks down and set me up on a monthly payment.
What a joke .
My sister told me about this company in the southeast U.S
They charged me like under 500 and all was done in 60 days

I’ve had a credit card which I paid last year , a student loan that I got out of collections 6 months ago and had a car loan that went to collections which is also paid as of last week. How long till my credit starts getting better? I can’t get credit on anything now and wondering how long it takes to start to clear up?

they stay on your report for 7 years if paid off or charged off your account they make notes that you paid off the debts

I need to get my credit fix. Does anyone know about a good way to do it and not expensive?

The only way to fix your credit is to pay your bills on time, especially your credit card bills and to make sure that you don’t max them out.
Pay them down or completely off, never miss a payment and your credit will fix it self.

Sorry… you can’t just pay some Co. some money and expect them to perform some kind of vodoo and give you back your credit report with a score of 850…. If it was that easy we wouldn’t need Credit Reports to prove that we can handle our finances.
